Conceptually, the LM FlyingT is a women's watch, and previous models (like the Coeur de Rubis) really leaned in that direction. However, the Onyx version is very unisex, with a 38.5mm diameter case in 18k yellow gold, and is the first version of the watch to not feature any gemstones or additional embellishments. Agate is a natural gemstone that is most commonly found in jet black color, but white, red, and yellow agate are also commonly found in jewelry. For the MB&F FlyingT, the stones had to be carefully carved into the shape of the dial. This meant it had to have an asymmetrical hole in the center to allow the tourbillon and time sub-dials to pass through, while also having varying thicknesses to accommodate the uneven surface of the movement below. The focal point of the watch is the central flying tourbillon emerging from the center of the dial. The tourbillon is designed to counteract the effects of gravity on the watch's movement by constantly rotating - the FlyingT rotates at a rate of one every 60 seconds, acting as the watch's seconds indicator. Hours and minutes are displayed on 50°-angled subdials with serpentine hands. The movement powering all this has a 4-day power reserve and is wound by an automatic sun-shaped rotor.
